My refrigerator is not getting cold enough?

Update:

I was given a refrigerator that was in storage for a year. It is a very good fridge. I plugged it into a normal wall outlet so it can get cold so I could transfer my food from my old fridge. But it only gets 48F, do you think refrigerator sat in storage too long or is the outlet not strong enough for a refrigerator?

    Check the thermostat.

If it has not been disturbed from its normal setting, don't turn it.

If the thermostat is correctly set, check the defrost timer.

This is normally located at the bottom of the cabinet,

either at the back or behind the removable vent panel on the front.

Most defrost timers are mechanically-operated switches

    driven by clock motors.

Possible failures here include the motor itself,

the gears between it and the switch,

    and the switch contacts.

Only by methodical diagnostic procedures can the exact fault be determined.

If the defrost timer is OK, there is a problem that will require attention

    from an appliance-repair professional.

There's a dial inside the fridge to turn it down

Turn the dial to the right and check to see if you are blocking the vents from the freezer, turn the freezer to colder. Clean the condenser coils

Hi so it is likely it has come to the end of it's life. we have one which has just come to the end of it's warranty period and has died. so this does seem to be the way it is made .
