Pediatric dentists are trained to deal with patients who scream and try to run away or fight. And they have to work with smaller mouths with smaller equipment or they could injure their patients. Pediatric dentists are also working with baby teeth, emerging adult teeth and growing jawbones and mandibles. They also have to put braces in mouths so that it corrects defects in the teeth and jaws as they grow. Adult dentists only have to work on already grown mouths and adult teeth. And if their patients are afraid of them, the patient just doesn't show up.
