What kind of bass guitar should I buy?
I've been playing the upright bass for a few years and I've gotten pretty good. I want to join/start a rock and roll or heavy metal band at some point, and the notes on a bass guitar are similar to the upright bass. What is a good bass that's not too expensive?

I guess it depends on what you think of as expensive. Maybe something like a Squier Precision bass would be a good starting point.
