Difference between sharpening, honing and stropping a blade?
Hi, can anyone please tell me the differences between each of these aspects, how often you should do each of them, and how useful they each are to the cutting potential of a blade. Thanks!

sharpening - grinding or removing metal to form an edge.- course thru fine edges
honing or straightening - usually with a steel bar maintains sharpness - corrects a rolled edge or burr . commonly used for meat cutting. done a few or more times during a work day
stropping - polishing on a leather strap or buffing wheel , used on razors and surgery scalpels.
honing and strapping are much the same .done before each use
