Bad cough and possibly asma?

Hello, so I had a cough for about 2 in a half weeks now. I'm going to write a list of symptoms.

-when I drink cold food or drink I start coughing like crazy

-wake up at night often coughing like crazy hard to breath and eyes are watering

-choking every time I eat

And it's so bad when I cough I kind of hiccup and I move a lot because it's hard to breath and my chest starts aching. The doctor gave me an inhaler she first said I had bronchitis then she said it could be asma or allergies. Now I cough less. But one cough is really powerful and my whole face is red. This cough is driving me crazy. Please any idea of what it may be or what should I do??? Thank you

Coughing can be an asthmatic reaction. You can be allergic to something in the environment or just have a cold.

Consider seeing an allergist for an intensive session of allergy testing to see if you are reacting to something that's avoidable.
