Besides strangles, what causes a horses lymph node under their jaw to swell "?

My horse has a swollen node, and what appears to be sweet itch or just an infection under his jaw. (Yes the vet is coming tomorrow)

    Any infection or abcess can cause nodes to swell.

    it could also be an infected tooth or a small fracture of the jaw. once the infection built up with pus the pressure will cause seepage under the jaw.
