BQ1: 2015; 2014 wasn't a really good year for hip hop in my opinion. Besides, the greatest releases (except for Pinata) came out after April, so we can say January 2015 - April 2015 > January 2014 - April 2014.

I mean, we had Dark Sky Paradise (pretty underrated), Tetsuo & Youth, To Pimp a Butterfly, Blade of the Ronin', B4.DA.$$, The Album About Nothing, etc.

Then Nas is releasing an album, Black Thought is maybe putting out a solo album... 2015 will be one of the greatest years for hip hop, I feel it.
