How long is too long for an undergraduate lab report?

Lab report with abstract, introduction, method/apparatus, results and discussion and appendices. How many pages or words should it be max?

Carla's answer is spot on, however it depends on what year you are currently in. First year lab reports can be as little as 3000 words. I remember a Lab report that i did in first year on pendulums and gravity that was about 3200 words and I got a 39/40.

it's all about content and quality. Talk about everything that is necessary, don't think about a word count or worry about making it look longer, worry about doing a good report with everything in there that needs to be. Your word count will end up being fine it you do this.

depends on your university. im doing a dissertation and its 10,000 words. most final pieces for university is around 6,000 - 12,000.

also check if your abstract is included in the word count and appendices normally aren't included in the word count either as its onlyextra information and boost your presentation mark

ASK YOUR UNIVERSITY or Personal tutor as all universities are different.
