Converting Minutes to a 100 point scale?

I am trying to figure out if I was shorted on a paycheck and want to be precise in my calculations. If someone worked lets say from 8PM to 606AM would that equal to 10.06 hours? .06 would be based on a 100 point scale wouldn't it? Where minutes are on a 60 point scale? How do I make the conversion?

Clarification is appreciated.

Cheers!

It would be 10.10 hours, because 6 minutes is 1/10 of 60 minutes.

NOPE...there are 60 minutes in an hour...6 minutes = 1/10 of an hour...

if you worked for 10 hours, 6 minutes...the decimal equivalent is: 10.1 hours

Hmm I should have used a number other than 6 for an example... So if I worked 8PM- 529AM how would I then know the conversion?

Would it be be 9.98 hours?

    9 hours plus 59/60=.98
