Sims 3: Generations, I didn t get some social interactions that came with the EP.?

I heard from multiple sources that if you have the Generations EP, your sim can ask other sims their gender preference, age, and alma matter. My sim can ask about the other sim s alma matter, but not about their age or gender preference, does anyone know what I can do about this?

    you can't ask about age or gender preference.
