What kind of spider is this?

At first I thought it was an ant because it was the same size as a carpenter ant and a similar shape. When I tried to get it on a piece of paper it moved REALLY quickly and jumped away.

Update:

This is in Huntsville, Alabama. and it was found inside (if that helps)

While I'm not sure which variety of spider this is, there is a group of ground spiders that are often called Ant-mimics because they look and behave so much like ants. Some even wave their front pair of legs like antennae. Yours is a male of some kind, but it's unfamiliar to me. I'll tentatively put it somewhere in the family Corinnidae, and hopefully somebody who knows the group better will weigh in. It might help if you say where this is, as well. Oh, yes - it's quite harmless (to us; it eats small insects and other arthropods, likely including ants).

This is indeed a male ant mimic spider in the family Corinnidae.

As John R. points out, they are quite harmless and nothing to be concerned about.
