ALEGBRA QUETION CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?!!?

For what values of x is the rational expression below undefined?

BTW there is more than one answer!

x - 7 / x^2 - 7 x - 8

A. -8

B. -7

C. -1

D.1

E. 7

    It is undefined for any x which causes the denominator is equal to zero.

    so when x^2 -7x - 8= 0

    (x-8)* (x+1) = x^2 -7x -8

    so when (x-8) = 0 x= 8

    so when (x+1)= 0

    x= -1

    so this is zero when x = 8 and x = -1

    C and F are the correct answer
