I've been to broken hill, it's not too bad of a place, it's like any country town, you have to get used to it and no there is no bad people or aborigines out to get you but I think it would have been a good idea to visit the place before accepting a job there.... I have no idea if there will be building jobs available, why don't you google building jobs available broken hill and see what comes up...

For a glimpse of what it's like out there, have a look at Outback ER, which is probably available on ABC iView.
Disregard the tragic who has a major issue with another member who probably doesn't even come from Broken Hill in the first place.

Sometimes when you gonna move forward you need to take one step backward to take 2 steps forward but you my friend going from Chatswood to B.H in the whoop whoop land I presume that before you make a step forward you need to take not 5 steps backwards nor 3 but I say about errhhhh 7 steps back and when you wanna move again back to Chatswood from there well sadly it never gonna happen. You're stuck there for rest of your misable life. At least you can see the milky way from there. It's all good. Be sure to say hi to B.H.Phily for us will you?

I had a week's holiday there once and liked the place a lot. People are friendly and say hello to you as you walk down the street.
It didn't seem to have more Aborigines than other country towns. and we walked about freely at night with no problems.
Housing is very affordable.
