After the PP draw I'm going with Dortmund and Firing Line not in any particular order. American Pharaoh is the favorite and I think will possibly pull it off.

WIN (8) Dortmund- The son of Big Brown perfect 6 for 6 lifetime starts is pretty solid. He scored on every factor used. He qualifies on number of starts at 2 and 3, stakes performances and final prep, layoffs, BRIS figures, dosage index and profile, and is a dual qualifier. But more importantly, despite being California based, he did ship east to Churchill Downs for one start as a 2-year-old.

Yes, I have predicted previous winners both favorite and long shot. :) The Kentucky Derby is the hardest race to handicap (20 horses) so skill does help, but little bit of luck was standing by me too.

I like Dortmund cause it is so strong and powerful. I like a grey that is exciting to see which will be Frosted and then the African horse Monbtahai for 3rd. A horse that travels across the country to be in a high stakes race like the Ky Derby needs to have good credentials to even make that kind of journey.
Winning Colors and Drosslemeyer were chosen cause I liked their names. I learned a system form a racetrack friend also. But in a crowd of horses so much depends on a jockeys skill and the horse with the stamina that makes it to the finish line in front of everybody else in the race.

Im going for Dortmund!!! My second choice is American Pharaoh. But really going for Dortmund!!! I picked Chrome last year!! (Jusr luck honestly lol I decided on him the day of the race)
