Should I stop putting Lotto on?

As the title says, is it a good idea?

It s $25 a fortnight that I can t really afford, but the problem is I know my numbers off by heart, so if they did come up and I hadn t put it on, jumping off a cliff would look pleasing...

What are your opinions on this? Thanks

P.S. I ve reduced it down to the absolute minimum number of games, so I can t save anymore money there.

If you can't afford the $25, then you can't afford it. You have to stop playing. Yes, your numbers might come up, and that's hard, but chances are they won't - and it's better to not be spending money you can't afford and miss your numbers, than continue to spend money you can't afford.

I don't know which Lotto you are playing, I only know the statistics for UK Lotto.

Here is my (statistical) opinion: You only increase your chances of winning by a tiny tiny amount by actually buying a ticket. In other words, it is almost as likely that you will win if you do, or do not buy a ticket. Here is my suggestion to you:

Put $25 per fortnight into a small saving account and at the end of one year, you will "win" $650 - plus any interest which could be $1 or $2. This has a much higher likelihood of paying off than the lotto.

    Good luck

Lotto is the luck of the draw. In the UK the National Lottery operates 3-4 days a week. When it started many years ago, I used same numbers week in week out to no avail. Have played it a few times since, but no winnings, and now the stake has been doubled, I don't bother.
