and also the rising sign that you mostly commonly see?

Actually, some signs take longer to rise, and other signs are rising only for a short time.
The further north or south you get from the equator, the greater this variation.
If you go up as far north as 60 degrees of latitude, Aries and Pisces are ONLY on the horizon for 30 minutes, while Virgo and Libra take almost 3 hours to rise.
Therefore, statistically speaking, there will be far MORE people with the signs of "long ascension" on their Ascendants, and many fewer with the signs of "short ascension".
In 40 years of doing chart readings for others, I have only encountered one Pisces-Rising person, and two Aries-Rising people. And I have done over 5000 personal readings.
A small number of Taurus and Gemini Rising.
All the other signs you can expect to see with some regularity.
But when you are trying to add up the people YOU know ... the data is skewed ... not balanced. You see, each of us attracts certain types of people to us, and Ascendant synastry-aspects are an important factor in attraction (especially the synastry conjunction). This will make our own personal impressions inaccurate.
If you are talking about people born in the southern hemisphere, the situation is reversed. In the southern hemisphere, it is Virgo and Libra Ascendants that are rarely encountered.

Well, that's an interesting question. I've noticed that most of my closest friends have a Leo, Aquarius, Gemini or Scorpio Rising, also Pisces. I've read somewhere that the signs do not take the same amount of time to cross the horizon. In the northern hemisphere, the signs of Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Aquarius and Pisces take much less time than two hours to cross the eastern horizon, while Leo, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius take much longer than two hours to do so. In the southern hemisphere you just have to reverse things.
