If you are talking about popular media type horoscopes - daily, weekly, monthly, yearly forecasts 0 I don't know why people believe in them, because that is a load of crap. It's not based you individual birth charts but on Sun sign astrology. Sun sign astrology is NOT astrology.

If you are talking about proper astrology based on ALL the planets in their signs and their houses and the aspects they make to each other in an individual birth chart, then people believe in it because it is surprisingly accurate. Having been a professional astrologer years ago I was amazed at how accurate my work was.

Astrology you can believe in but not media-promoted horoscopes and not Sun sign astrology.

Why do people believe it? Because it is very much real if you took the time to read about it you will know too

Nothing wrong with rational beliefs. Like I believe in education over ignorance and science instead of superstions. Anything that has truth should be able to handle criticism. Astrology gives people built in excuses.
