How do i get him to like me?

I'm 16 and never had a boyfriend, never had a first kiss, no where near close to losing my virginity, i'm a loser basically!lol, i think i'm just saving myself for the right person, because i only want a relationship with someone if i truly like them. Theres this guy i really really like, he's such a great guy, he's always smiling and thats what i like most about him. I'm not ugly or anything but i do lack in self confidence, i sit infront of him in maths and never say i word during the lesson because he's always talking to this other annoying girl, but at the end he most of the time says something to me like "hows the drama lessons going?", when i'm with my friends around him he finds me funny but its very rare he sees me when i'm with my friends, i've messaged him a few times on snapchat but its always me messaging him first, i never know what to put anyway, its always somthing pointless or dumb! I'm not what you'd call 'popular' i'm abit unsociable when i'm in lessons because none of my friends are in my lessons, i'm just scared he would never go out with me because he'd be embarrassed as i'm the one in lesson who always gets on with the work and not necessarily the coolest one there, i'm not smart but i try my best to be! What should i do to have a chance with this guy??
