My earring is stuck!?

My 3rd ear lobe piercing has had an earring stuck in for a while, like a year or more, I've tried everything to get it out, no matter how hard i pull, and I've tried to soften the backing (it's a rubber backing and it's become hardened ) I can move the backing on the earring post but can't pull it off the end, does anyone have any ideas on how I can get it off? The post has turned black now and has crust on it and I really want it off, please help 😔
