Did you know that every UK government since 1971 has presided over record numbers of employed persons?

The Tories like to make great play that they have record numbers of employed persons but it looks like it isn’t down to their economic genius, it’s population growth that causes it.

    Yes. This is why numbers are irrelevant, and it's the percentage of employed persons you should be looking at.

    You also need to ask how many of the jobs are part-time, minimum wage or zero-hours contracts.
