Is my teacher right? I'm in high school and average CPA, not honors. She said it was horrible. I apologize in advance, but please read!?
I got a D on this (extended photo). We all have big dreams growing up. Some of us wanted to be firefighters, some wanted to be doctors, some wanted to make a lot of money, and some, like my uncle, wanted to be a seagull. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my 10 year old self would confidently give the answer “rich” almost as if I was certain that being rich was my destiny. I mean what 10 year old doesn’t want to be rich?
When you’re young, you don’t see the reality of fulfilling your dream. You don’t see all the effort that would be involved in chasing that dream. At ten years old, no one asked me how I was going to make my seemingly inevitable future of success come true. I couldn’t really comprehend that my dream probably wouldn’t come true and that I would have to work hard and move mountains for it. My dream was more of a wish that I expected would come true than it was something I wanted enough to put in the effort for.
Wasn’t long after the realization of how hard that dream would be to achieve that I forgot about it all together. After setting this dream aside, I started to live day to day with no ambitions to strive for other than to get a new dirtbike. This mentality lasted me well into high school and it still shows itself occasionally as a senior. After finally getting that dirt bike, I had a more prevalent desire, getting into a college. The new dream of getting into college came a little late as I messed up pretty bad in school the previous years.

There are plenty of problems within this essay. Grammar errors are seen throughout the paper. You don't have a proper thesis or claim to start your paper off. The whole idea or point of the essay should be stated clearly in the intro. This does not mean you flat out say, "The purpose of my paper is blah blah blah." This means that you state your point of view on the topic. You should also work on topic sentences for each paragraph. These are like mini thesis sentences. They kind of foreshadow what you will be talking about in the paragraph. Finally you need to come up with a solid conclusion. Your conclusion should sum up what you claim is. This means you need to recapitulate your main idea. Hope this helps!
