Is this unusual?
I never really thought about it, but recently something came up, and i was wondering if other people do it, too. When I hear words, I also "see" them in my head, like a subtitle, especially if I'm listening to music. It makes me a great speller, but how strange is it to do this?

It depends on what I'm listening to--when I'm talking or listening to someone as they speak, it's just the words, but with music I also get impressions. For example, right now I'm listening to "Sunshine" by John Denver, and I'm getting a feeling of peace, an image of sunlight glimmering through the trees, and John Denver's face, with the lyrics at the bottom of the images.
