$10 antenna from Walmart not working?
I have a really old TV and bought an antenna so I can have TV since I can't afford cable or internet. It said just to hook it to the cable/antenna port in the TV which I did. Then it told me to scan channels which I did but when it gets done scanning it goes back to the static channel on 2. I'll include pictures of exactly what I have. I don't know why it's not working. I've even adjusted the antenna lengths many times. I'm getting very frustrated and this is the only thing I can do because I can't afford anything else. Any one know how to get this thing working?

With your television set, the built in tuner is now obsolete. You need a converter box, which is not terribly costly (especially on the used market such as Craigslist) that connects to the television and does still need the antenna you purchased.
You will then either set your television to the video input (those yellow and white connections) or tune it to channel 3, and use the box just like people use a cable box. You tune the new digital channels using the remote that comes with the box.
Here is an example of a new box that I have had experience with, and it works well....

The device comes with the cable needed to connect it to your television set. Again, the antenna you purchased connects to that box - the box connects to the television set.

those antennas are made for new tvs, like everyone else said you have to run a digital converter between the antenna and the tv.

Your tv is too old to get today's over the air channels. You still need to invest around 50 or so to buy digital tuner.Conect it to your tv and then conect your antena and then scan again but don't forget to postion your antena in diff directions because tv statation is in diff directions and yeah your antena is just fine.Old antenas still works with today's tv as well. You just need tv tuner. Here is a search result for digital tv tuner for you.Try to invest around 50 dollars one.Not too cheap one.
