what book in the bible is best to read for new christians?

    The Gospel of Mark. It is the easiest to understand, and if you read it in one go (2.5-3 hours maybe), it reads like a simple story told around a campfire.

    Many suggest John, but, his Gospel has a lot of deep Theological ideas. Excellent reading, but, not for a beginner.

    Many like John. I love Pauls letters. Check out The Message online. The bible comes alive!

    The Gospel of John. John's Gospel is written from a very personal point of view regarding the Savior's life.

    I always suggest they start out with the Gospels. Mark is relatively easy to understand.
