RHH: Do you consider The Cool by Lupe Fiasco a classic? (+BQs)?

I do think of it as a classic album. But I had a conversation with my friends and one of them called it mediocre... I mean I think it's close to being as good as Food & Liquor which is his best imo.

BQ1: What's your opinion on Vic Mensa? Do you like him?

BQ2: B/S: If Freddie Gibbs makes another album like Pinata he is undeniably the best out there

BQ3:

1. Schoolboy Q or Kevin Gates?

2. Oxymoron or Luca Brasi 2

Yessir... love that album Food & Liquor is def a classic and one of the best rap albums ive ever listened to as well as The Cool however I prefer Food & Liquor... but that pretty much stops Lupe there for me.. after his first 2 albums he went down to me..

    BQ1: Not a fan.

BQ2: Gangsta Gibbs is so dope... but idk if he'll be the best we shall see.. for rn tho RENT!

    BQ3: 1.Schoolboy Q w/o a doubt.. 2.Oxymoron.

I don't Lupe has really made anything that's really clicked for him yet. He's good, lyrically potent, fairly versatile; a little lacking in presence but otherwise he doesn't really have any weak points. I just don't find that any of his albums really capture my attention or make me fall in love. I think he's a little self-satisfied because of his lyrical ability; some more ambition could go a long way in him crafting a better album (this all being said I haven't heard his new record).

BQ1: Vaguely positive. Still need to get to him.

BQ2: Ehhh....it's hard for me to tell because Gibbs's haphazard discography of mixtapes and EP's, most of which I've given listens to and forgot about all get jumbled...

For now I'll sell, but I think he is pretty unique in the current playing field.

Yes. It is his second best album in my opinion behind Food and Liquor of course. Both are definitely classics. Great lyricism, great production, interesting song topics, etc. Tetsuo and Youth will potentially go down as a classic in my opinion too, as it is still very impressive in my opinion.

BQ1: Don't really care for him. Never grabbed my attention

BQ2: Rent. Only because he's never really interested me. He is easily one of the best rappers today but besides Pinata, I can't listen to him for a long time.

  • I'm done with calling anything classic but it's a great album.

BQ: Yeah he's dope af but that U Mad song with Kanye was weak as hell. I hope he doesn't fvck up now that he's semi-famous.

BQ2: No. I really don't see what other people are seeing with Gibbs. On a technical level he's still iffy to me.

    BQ3: Haven't heard Luca Brasi 2

Not even close in my opinion, but I don't really throw around the title "classic" as easily as some of the people here do. I agree that it is mediocre and it is his third best album imo. I don't consider any of his albums classics

    BQ1: Haven't listened

BQ2: No. Still behind Kendrick and Killer Mike.

Well anything except Food and Liquor isn't even a borderline classic for me.

    B.Q 1 : Hes a dope artist with a new Midwest flavour.

B.Q 2 : Well hes still one of the best out there for me and in my personal opinion

Gibbs > Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.

    B.Q 3 : Kevin Gates.
