I have $40k to invest?

Forget about my age or financial status. I have $40k to invest but cannot make my mind up wether to invest in a vanguard fund VHDYX or equivalent ETF. Please, tell me the pro's & con's, and what would you do as an investor? Thank you!

One advantage of the mutual fund vs the ETF is that it makes it a bit easier come tax time. Vanguard will send you nice, neat tax forms with all your dividend and cap gain info.

As an investor, I personally am not interested in high yield bonds. I prefer growth rather than income both in terms of returns and taxation.

VHDYX is a Vanguard Large Value Fund.

The performance of this fund has been quite good.

It is rated 5 star by Morningstar rating system.

Nope. If you can't be bothered to tell your age or financial status, then it really doesn't matter.
