RHH: Can good flow make up for mediocre lyrics (+BQs)?

I personally think a rapper with good flow and mediocre lyrics is better than a rapper with boring flow / no flow at all and good lyrics. What do you think?

BQ1: B/S - Freddie Gibbs has the best flow out there right now.

BQ2: Which reg do you think has the most similar music taste to yours?

Well it really depends upon the listener like if someone's prime focus while listening to music is lyricism it'll be really hard for such a fan to get impressed by a mediocre lyricist no matter how good your flow is . This is the reason why people like R.A the Rugged Man are respected his flow sucks but he can definitely throw some complex vocabulary with some wordplay (which I find annoying ) many find impressive but for me yeah if some artist got good production supported by an impressive flow in that case I don't give a damn about lyricism.

B.Q 1 : I'll rent it cause he's definitely got one of the best if not the very flow out there right now.

B.Q 2 : I guess my taste is pretty close to P. Monch , a bit of RKO since we both admire Eminem's music and everyone who thinks that TPAB and Kendrick Lamar are overrated as f**k.

For some people it can, and for some it doesn't. For me, it doesn't. If a track is not lyrical, I will not **** with it because I am an elitist pick like Thrizzelle Washington says. So my answer is no. It's basically based off of preference I guess. I'd honestly rather listen to Immortal Techniques flow rather than hear Machine Gun Kelly's flow because he's that shitty of a lyricist.

BQ1: Sell, I honestly think that Kendrick has the best flow. He seemed to mastered Andre 3000's style of flow which is probably why it's so good.

    BQ2: Mos Definitely

I don't think it's that easy to divorce lyrics and flow, good flow is commonly related to how a rapper structures their rhyme scheme and how they build it off the beat. Still, the answer's yes, but I don't really think there's any straightforward relationship to good songs versus lyrics and flow. A good song is good, and perhaps good lyrics or good flow are part of the reasons why it's good.

BQ: Nah, but he's got good flows that's for sure.

BQ2: No idea. I don't think anyone has taste that similar to mine.

Yes, most of the time. I also like lyrical rappers with bad flows like MF Doom, though.

BQ1: Rent. I guess I would go with A$AP Rocky on this, but Freddie's flow is great.

BQ2: I guess l.e.b. I've seen his top 10 and, although he doesn't have Andre 3000, he had Sadistik (I like him a lot), Nas (not my favorite anymore but still in my top 2), Biggie (I'm not a huge fan even though 'Ready to Die' is one of my favorite albums), Eminem (many in this section don't like him whereas I'm a huge fan of him), Kanye West (I love his music), and Big K.R.I.T. (I'm a Krizzle's stan). He also had The Game (not one of my favorites but still a great rapper), Kendrick Lamar (good rapper; I wouldn't put him anywhere near the top 10, though), Drake (ehhh... I don't like him a lot, but I'm not a hater) and XV (great rapper even though I don't know him a lot).

It can for sure but not always. I liked CCV's example with Twista..I would like to use Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, Future and King Los off the top of my head.

BQ1: He definitely has one of the better flows in the game right now..Only a few others I think are arguably on his level of flow and that's Meek Mill, Rittz, Future and maybe Kevin Gates..But yea I think I'd agree on Gibbs having the best flow. Buy.

BQ2: I think we all as individuals have are own personal taste but I have similar views to others on certain topics, for example..

Me and CCV have similar views on modern Hip Hop and mainstream Hip Hop..

Me and Sportsdude can agree on alot of 90s Hip Hop..Id say CCV though to answer your question.

Well e 40 lyrics ain't that good but e has mad flow and I do like his music almost because of his flow. But he's no where near top 100 tho. And there is this guy named joe blow who I think is better lyrically then 40 but he basically just talks when he raps so I'd take lyrics personally tho but idk
