My period is late?
Okay so I had my first period from February 7-15 of this recent year. It was very heavy. My next was a bit late, but it was new so it didn't have a pattern yet. It was March 16-21. It was light to the point I thought something was messed up! 😂 My third was April 13-21. Eight days again and very heavy. This should have been my fourth. I was thinking that my cycle might alternate from heavy to light and I figured this one might be a bit late but now I'm kind of nervous. What should I do? Worry or wait it out?

My periods started when I was 12 and were always very irregular and lasted anywhere from 8 days to 33 days before my gynecologist, finally did my first female surgery (I was 15) where I lost my right ovary and tube, and he gave me medication to regulate my periods (hormones). The next 23 years I suffered with irregular periods coming every 6 months or sometimes every 3 weeks, or lasting for 30 days with very heavy bleeding, and debilitating cramps. Finally after losing a lot of blood and beginning to cause other very serious health problems my doc performed a hysterectomy due to the scar tissues and endometrial growths pinching and choking my intestines. That was the first time in my life I could actually hold a full-time job for more than 90 days and was not hospitalized every few weeks. My left ovary was left intact so I would not go through artificial menopause and deal with those issues so young.
Some gals just have female troubles and there is no way to predict who they will be. Find out any pertinent family history too that may shed light on the situation. Keep a good record of your start and stop dates, once your cycle regulates itself you will see what your pattern is and be able to manage it a lot better. If you do not regulate in a year, see your gynecologist so they can see if there is something out of the ordinary going on that can be taken care of before your life becomes treacherous and unmanageable. Also, the more worry and stress you cause yourself about it, the more irregularity you will experience. The same is often true about female athletes where their period just stops. It usually resumes when the physical activity decreases but sometimes it does not and required medical attention. I don't believe that you are having a problem yet since it is just your first year. However, if you are sexually active, be sure to always use protection and be honest with your doctor and mom. Even though your period is irregular you can still get pregnant or an STD.

Wait it out. There isn't a reason to worry most periods are anonymous. There are times when my period is light and only lasts two days. And some times it's very heavy and lasts a week. Similar to your situation. It's normal

You're only on your fourth, you're not going to be regular until you're fully grown sweetie, I've had mine for 3 years and I'm still not regular! Only had 2 months where they were on time, mine ranged from short to long to every 2 weeks and this month I was 4 days late so don't worry about it. It's normal hormone fluctuation

How could you know that your second period was late when you don't even know how long your cycles are? A menstrual cycle can be short like 23 days, or long like 35 days, it's different for all of us, but that doesn't make us late. You just started menstruating, it's supposed to be all over the place like that, it's normal since your hormones take time to regulate.
