RHH: How do you feel about this Bill O'Reilly guy and his statement?

Christianity has been on the downslope for years now, and it's mostly because people are realizing the inherent problems with religion in general. We've seen both sides of the coin way too many times, from religious extremisn leading to overly passionate and irrational reactions (terrorism being the biggest but certainly not the only example) to smaller more conventional and once-socially acceptable forms of religion leading to a variety of confusions for people in the modern age (e.g. homosexuality being assumed sinful). I'm not sure religion can continue to exist, at least in the traditional sense as religious texts and practices will seem increasingly absurd to the following generation of Americans as they find their personal beliefs and morals incompatible with any major form of religion.

Bill O'Reilly is probably right in that rap music contributes to the decline of Christianity - just like most forms of art rap criticizes or outright rejects certain aspects of society, which in turn inspires listeners to do the same. Rap music certainly isn't the only cause for religion's growing downfall - religion's inflexibility regarding changing to fit newer and better moral systems is what is ultimately destroying it. The question is, is that really a bad thing?

But like NYi rightfully says, most of O' Reilly's fans are racists or people with unconscious racial prejudices. He's just making a blunt statement that reiterates a sentiment most of his audience already holds while giving the hip hop community another reason to get angry at him. It's obviously inflammatory content that only exists to be inflammatory, especially to us as hip hop listeners who he hopes will lash back at him, which will in turn incense his audience and get people on the sidelines picking sides.

In other words, let's all ignore this n¡gg@.

Bill O Reilly is just a grumpy old fvck that's sh¡tting on a music genre that's more relevant than he is / ever will be.

Furthermore, as king said already he literally researches for hours trying to find bad stuff involving Hip - Hop and is trying to give it a bad reputation.
