Does anyone have distracted driving horror stories?

18 yr old Nikki Kellenyi was killed be her friend and is now wearing her senior prom dress for eternity. Nikki was in the back seat of her friends car as her friend drive through two stop signs. Her friend never saw the stop signs because she was looking at her phone while driving. We had to use phone records and crash data to figure out what happened, her friend used the 5th amendment and has never spoken to us, not even to apologize for killing our daughter.

We started PADD, People Against Distracted Driving, a national 501(c)3 supporting victims and their families along with educating teens and adults.

In a town not far from where I live, five girls died shortly after high school graduation. Excerpts from the news stories:

The nine Fairport High School graduates had a day of relaxation planned: some sunbathing, some swimming, some boating.

With scorching temperatures expected to reach into the 90s Wednesday, a day at a Keuka Lake cottage seemed the perfect opportunity for the nine young women to relax together before they headed their separate ways for college.

But the outing ended in a fiery tragedy Tuesday night when a sport utility vehicle carrying five of the teens slammed head-on into a tractor-trailer in Ontario County, as the other four friends watched in horror from a vehicle following behind.

Text messages were sent and received on a 17-year-old driver's cell phone moments before the sport utility vehicle slammed head-on into a truck, killing her and four other recent high school graduates, police said.

Bailey Goodman was driving her friends to her parents' vacation home when her SUV, which had just passed a car, swerved back into oncoming traffic, hit a tractor-trailer and burst into flames. Five days earlier, the five teenagers had graduated together from high school...

Goodman's inexperience at the wheel; evidence she was driving above the speed limit at night on a winding, two-lane highway; and a succession of calls and text messages on her phone were cited Friday by Sheriff Phil Povero

No sorry its true. I am far from a horrible person, I did state I tried to stop. I told him we should stop but he was scared of the man who was going nuts(he was not hurt just drunk i think). I was learning so i think the instructor was to blame. I did swap instructors/company and report him. I am one of the most nicest people you will ever talk too, you have no idea who i am or what i have done before. Believe you me i will go to heaven and have a lot of people/pets waiting for me. As for not being allowed to drive i was learning and 17.. I am now 31 and have a full clean d/l not even 1 speeding ticket or crash.
