Why many people hate autism and think of it as garbage?

For someone to hate another person for being different must really hate themselves.

Also many people are ableist and not aware of what Atism actually is and how it affects a person.

I have High functioning Autism and I'm doing things that most people do in their lives that they thought I couldn't’t do. Get an education, get good grades, go to university, pass university, drive a car, get and maintain a job and even hang out with friends. What's wrong with that? Nothing.

There is nothing wrong with you trying to live a normal life.

Try to remember, if you are indeed autistic, that your perceptions of the social world are inaccurate. I would say, being neurotypical, that most people not only don't hate people with autism, they don't know it exists or are so entirely ignorant about the disorder that they wouldn't know if someone was autistic or not.

It is a fairly uncommon disorder and harder to diagnose than disabilities such as Down Syndrome, so most people don't actually think of it as garbage but that it may not really exist and that the people with the disorder are faking it. However, they make up a very small amount of the population.

Nothing - people can be very ignorant about things they don't understand. They are not your friends if they call you names and make fun of you. Tell them to do some research - we are living in a world where we have knowledge at our fingertips - ignorance is no longer excusable.

They don't really hate you they only hate themselves don't worry about them remember you're better off without such people like that in your life

nothing is wrong with your life, the people don't understand your illness like they don't understand mine which is dystonia so they make fun of us instead of asking what is wrong and i don't mind explaining to them.

i did challenging stigma to change people's view of regarding all disabilities and some wore tshirts called see me as a person not my disability,

try ignoring them and do your own things will help you become stronger.

Immature people fear difference. They don't hate your condition, they just think you're weird and instead of appreciating your difference, pile on you because of it. Don't make friends with people who do that.

I don't hate autistic people, but my personality has never gotten along with them

Many think it is the "illness/diagnosis of the day" and offensively state this and I think it is due to jealousy because they are not the focus of the attention.
