RHH: Is Nas irrelevant now?

I mean with all due respect, Nas is my #1 GOAT rapper on my list and Illmatic my #1 RHH album... But isn't he kinda irrelevant right now? After all this time, I don't even feel like I wanna talk about him or listen to new stuff (if he ever releases anything new again).

Life Is Good was a big disappointment for me, not that it sucked, but it wasn't what I expected. I liked "The Season" the track he put out but that's the only thing he released the past few years I actually liked.

He will always have the talent he had when he put out Illmatic, but hasn't he become overplayed? How do you feel about Nas at this point? Isn't he kinda washed up?

I definitely agree that he is washed up and has become overplayed. I also feel that he is well out of his prime also. The Season was a good track but Dilla's production definitely did outshined Nas's bars whether you disagree or not. I also agree to an extent that Nas is irrelevant. But at my school, Nas is actually pretty popular believe it or not. Guys like, Nas, Pac, Biggie, Eazy E, Wu Tang, and DOOM are all talked about a lot for that matter so I wouldn't say that Nas is completely irrelevant yet. But, I'll admit, I can't listen to Nas everyday like how I used to. I kind of get bored at times just listening to him but it also doesn't help that kids in my school somewhat killed a bit of my interest in Nas so that could play a role in it too. At this point with Nas, I think his best days are behind him and I don't think that he will have another classic album but I think he can still drop a solid 7/10 album.

This might be kind of random, but I'm actually considering putting Pharoahe Monch #2 on my GOAT list now and moving Nas down to 3. I say this because, I feel that his music has aged better and he is a lot more fun to listen to in my opinion. PTSD, an album Monch released last year is definitely better than any Nas album that was put out in the last ten years or so. But that's just me. I'm actually writing an article on rap genius right now about how I'm starting to think that Pharoahe is a better rapper than Nas. But I haven't made any changes to my list officially. Monch is still #4, Nas is #2, and 3 Stacks is #3

Nas is irrelevant because no one in pop culture gives a **** about him. He used to be bangin Kelis and beefing with Jay-Z and now he's releasing songs talking about his daughter and clubbing and ****. Doesn't mean he still can't release good music, but it's just a fact. When he was having record deal troubles with Def Jam a few year back the only people who gave a **** were avid Nas fans and old dudes, no one else even knew--just another testament to how he's a relic from a bygone age.

I liked 'Life Is Good' a lot and he's still the best in my opinion. He is not in his prime of course, but he's still making great music. Now that I have put Andre 3000 at #1, Nas is kicking him off since I'm into him more than ever right now. He's definitely not washed up in my opinion.

Well I got a simple answer for ya unless you're a Jay Z or Eminem its really hard to stay relevant for a 40+ rapper.

He's no more irrelevant than he was 5 years ago.

If he made Nas.Com like he was fvcking supposed to or collaborated with GFK for a couple songs -- he could've stayed relevant.
