Is this a spirit? (Don't answer if you don't believe me)?
First, let me start off by saying I have never drank, smoke or done drugs in my life. I was not on any type of medication at the time and I have not been on any in awhile.. One night I was walking down from my room to the living room, which is right down the hall. I don't know what time it was.. But when I entered the living room I saw these two things.. They were like orbs, they were both like neon green and glowing.. They appeared to be the size of a little bouncy ball or a quarter. They weren't doing anything harmful, just casually floating around in my living room. But I got really scared and I ran back to my room.. There's a bathroom in my room, and the door was open. I was looking at it and I saw the green orb thing float out of there, I'm not sure if it was one of those because they all look the same. So I just jumped into my bed and forced myself to go to sleep.. It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do, but I was really scared. I told my parents, they believed me but they thought thought it was probably a light going through the window and I might have just been really tired. The blinds weren't open though, and I'm sure I wasn't tired. I saw it again a few weeks later in the living room, I did the same thing as last time and went to bed.. I'm really scared to go into the living room at night now.. what is this thing?

Sure, if you ask it here, then must be a true claim and everyone must show no doubt.
We are total strangers thousands of miles away, so why seek our approval? Don't you have people that know you living near or in the same building? Also we can make up things too. Trusting us is not the smart thing to do.

You are the second person to mention glowing green orbs in their home. As I told the first one, I don't know where you live, but you may have let in a couple of glowing insects. Try a fly spray and see if that gets rid. If not, then consider paranormal.

Hey, they were Just "Balls of light". Why make something MORE of them than what they were ? Sure they were unknown in origin , but they were not SO unusual as to justify going off the deep end and attribute them to actual "Spirits of the dead"---What evidence do you have for that? Next time you see them, Note the time, CALL in other family members as witnesses, to make sure they are REAL and not just YOU seeing things.
Try to CATCH one,---- seriously. They seem harmless enough. You may not have any luck, but you will get a good look and be able to see if it an object or a reflection. What is the matter? have you no Curiosity?
I would First guess a couple of "Fireflies"---but if not that, orbs of glowing, ionized air Perhaps like "ball Lightning or "Will O' the Wisp"?.---no, we do not how they would form, but then again there is STILL a LOT we do not know in Science and our world. ----It likely is natural--as ionized Nitrogen (in the air) glows green. Who knows? You might make a new, if minor Scientific Discovery.
An interesting note here--Note how the Believers tend to go with the "Spirit " theory (despite lack of compelling evidence)---Hey I believe you DID see the lights anyway. And The Skeptics tend to say the Lights didn't exist at all, despite their simple nature and conforming to Known Science in many respects----Are they denying the phenomena because they didn't like your interpretation of "Spirits"?---That is just as bad as the blind believers---Both basing their judgments on the Superstation rather than simple observation.

<Don't answer if you don't believe me> As others have pointed out, don't ask a yes/no answer unless you are willing to entertain the 'no' part of that. What's left to say? 'Yes'? How does that help you? There are hundreds if not thousands of paranormal-only websites you can visit if all you want is validation of whatever answer you want to hear. If you don't want dissenting opinions, then don't ask on an open website like Yahoo!Answers.

<I have never drank, smoke or done drugs in my life. I was not on any type of medication at the time and I have not been on any in awhile> Medications *are* drugs, and since you seem to think it's relevant that you haven't been taking them for a while, I can't help but wonder what they were and why you were medicated.
.
<I don't know what time it was.> But it was nighttime, that period of every day when our brains grow tired and want sleep, and sleepy brains are capable of hallucinating.
.
<So I just jumped into my bed and forced myself to go to sleep.> Inconsistencies like this is the part of the story are the reason people like Gary are disinclined to believe you. If I have seen something as remarkable as you describe, especially something that scared me to the point of running to hide, sleep is going to be about the last thing on my mind. Even if I wasn't afraid of whatever I had seen, I'd be fascinated by it. Yet, you hop into bed and take a nap.
.
<and I'm sure I wasn't tired.> And another inconsistency. It was night, and you were able to go to sleep, so how is it that you're sure you weren't tired?
.
<I saw it again a few weeks later in the living room, I did the same thing as last time and went to bed.> And here's the same absurd assertion yet again. Inexplicable glowing orbs floating around the house? Okay, it's beddy-bye time.
.
<I'm really scared to go into the living room at night now.> Yeah, you really sound like it.
.
<[What] is this thing?> It looks like a 15-year-old making up a story to me. It's not a question of believing or not believing in orbs, it's your story itself that is suspect. You want us to believe that you're afraid now to walk around your own house, but that you're just able to hit the sack for a good night's sleep when it happens. You really need to improve your fabrication skills.
.
EDIT: And here is your story from a week ago, where you say you *did* know what time it was, and that you started texting your friend when you went to the bedroom, and not straight to sleep as you say here. /question/index?qid=20150... See, paranormal believers, pay attention here--this is what makes it so hard to believe anything we read here, and what baffles us when so many of you uncritically accept what you read. This isn't the only obvious embellishment of stories we've seen here lately. Here's the version from several months ago--it keeps gaining details with each retelling. /question/index?qid=20150...

If you stipulate that you don't want people to answer if they don't believe you then why are you even asking? It sound like you already "know" the answer

I don't have any trouble believing that people 'see' things that aren't there and if you ran from one room to another and 'saw' exactly the same thing in both places it suggests to me that it may have been some sort of issue with your eyes. It you continue to see them get your parents to take you to the doctor.

Ghosts are mostly orbs of any colour, any shape, any size. They take human shape at any time they choose.
You are lucky that green orb was harmless. It didn't do anything to you, physically. It respected your personal space.
Like Mr. P said, just be courteous to any spirit that enters your rooms. If you treat them with respect, they'd treat you back with respect. If you are good to them like remembering them in nice prayers for them, not exorcism, they would look after you and ensure your safety in any situation. Grateful ghosts always return you favours for whatever good that you've done for them or for their living descendants.
Ghosts turn hostile if you dare try exorcism. Try civility and nice prayers for them.
Did you bring something into house, for example an antique or second-hand good, whatever item that ghost is very sentimentally attached to? Even old letters, postcards, toys, etc.
Treat ghost's old belonging with respect and the ghost will appreciate that in you. If it wants, return its belonging to the rightful place, which is ghost's old home.

They're spirit creatures. If you don't feel any "touching," whispers, things levitating etc., maybe they're just passing by. If you feel threatened in any way, strengthen your faith in God, and approach Him by means of prayers. -Psalm 83:18; Prov 18:10.

Yes providing you were not to tired what you saw were orbs. Little balls of transparent light that float and move with purpose. Yes they are the most seen type of spirit activity but there is nothing to worry about. Feel free to talk to them next time if you have any questions.
Spirits are everywhere and most of the time they stay out of our way and share the space with us - we are only separated by time, and scientists are not completely sure what time is, so just be courteous to them and they should respect your space too.
