If I buy a refurbished windows 7 computer can I get all of the necessary updates to run Efficiently in a windows 8+ world?

    I presume you intend to run Windows 7? If so make sure Service Pack 1 is installed (can be downloaded) then updates will be available until 14 January 2020.

    Yes. Windows 7 updates are still available. Pay attention to when Microsoft will "end of life" the updates.
