Why do people beg on Yahoo Answers?
So many people seem to ask people for games or gift cards...

They're just a couple of bums hoping to scam people. They were probably born from Craigslist where that's all people do is ask and beg for stupid stuff.

It's simple, because they can.
they have nothing to loose by asking for them, and there is a bit of influence in obtaining those kind of things with the Internet itself, like gameplay videos where the YouTube uploader says things like "first 300 likes get a chance to win a gift card" or "leave a comment with (anything he asks) and have a chance to win a game" etc....they do it so easily that it just seems like a far, almost inexistent way to win something for free, but by the fact that you just loose 3 seconds by asking and there is a tiny chance, they just try.
you don't know when some random people just may say yes to those beggars, so they keep trying.
