What's the name for element AuS?

AuS is an ionic compound, but what's the name for it?

Its gold sulphide. And if you want to be more precise, gold(II) sulphide. It does exist. Don't worry 😉

There are two different compounds formed from gold and sulfur. One has the formula Au2S and is gold (I) sulfide. The other is Au2S3 which is gold (III) sulfide. These are both ionic compounds.

(Your title asks for the name of the element AuS. This is very incorrect. Gold (Au) is an element, and sulfur (S) is a different element. AuS (which doesn't exist) cannot be an element.)
