It is not Muslims who destroy artifacts, but Talibans, al Shabab and ISIS are doing these. ISIS is into smuggling of artifacts, thus they may use it as a promotional to their niche market in a manner that either you buy these, else we destroy these.

Muslims have lived with ancient artifacts for centuries, studied them, preserved them, and knew their value to all humanity.. The current fundamentalist sect is the group with the problem.

Not a Muslim, but you should be aware that not all Muslims are iconoclasts. If you don't know what that means, Google it.
