is it dangerous for a man to help out a child anymore due to the risk of being unfairly labeled a dangerous pedohile or stranger?

Like what ive read happens is that a man helps a lost child find his mother, or in the urgency of say CPR doesnt doesnt dot all his Is and Ts with getting permission when hes helping a child or what have you could be a child running in the street. and Im afraid to even help out children and even some woman just because i dont want my name being in the paper as a a suspected creep, or get slapped by the mother of the son i just saved. is this paranoid?
