The only de JURE (as in enshrined in law) language of the UK is WELSH. English is spoken by 98%+ of the population, but it is the de FACTO language. Like many things in the UK we never saw the need to have an official language - everyone spoke English so what's the point in making it official?

So if anything it should be English second, and then other native languages like Scots, Scottish Gaelic, Irish and BSL.
