hockey question?

Why don't players cherrypick? I mean sure they're missing a guy defensivly but one good pass to them is an instant breakaway and goal?

So you are saying that iot will be better to play short handed in your own end for the whole game for a chance for an occasional breakaway? The best NHL team on PK last year was 86% That means on 14% of their shorthanded situations they gave up goals. Playing the way you suggests is like having 30 penalties a game. That would result in 4-5 goals against per game. Not very likely to be successful.

Every man on the ice counts. Besides, with how the game is improving with players like Karlsson at the back, cherrypickers would be deemed useless.

Some do, even in the NHL.
