Isn't it pretty dang obvious that money and jobs/careers are the way to know how truly successful a person is in his or her life?
if a person is never gainfully employed or is gainfully employed but then is fired or whatnot, then that person has failed in life and fits the bill of "loser" especially if they went to college. working slave-wage jobs means you're a failure even if you're a "nice person" or whatnot. successful people don't care about being "mean" or "nice", they only focus on success and they're the people who get remembered. following your dreams is pointless unless it is a dream that absolutely will make you money and make people like you and respect you.
the only exceptions would be if you're mentally and/or extremely extremely extremely physically handicapped and so basically can't work at all since those people can't help it, or if you're one of those really poor people born on the streets in really poor countries like india and those african countries so you're basically screwed from day 1 no matter what
and I'm not rich in fact I'm really low on money and am trying to get new skills to get a real career. so it's not like I'm trying to look down on everyone. the same rules apply to me too like they do everyone else. so if I go through this bad stuff, then I'd be the first to admit that I'm a failure and loser in life, too, like I'd say for anyone else
and for those who say "Money isn't everything!" try telling that to the poor, sick, and starving homeless people living in africa and asia. they'd all tell you the hard truth: money IS the key to better life and respect.

Success is based on goals. A goal is a point you work toward. If I was born in a poor country, my goal might be to give my children a better life than I had. If I work hard, and all my children get a good education, am I a success ?
That's a simple example that you some how missed. I could give you at least 10 more, but I prefer to just blow holes in your money is everything theory. One Sunday I had to used the road that goes by John DuPont's estate. The police had the road blocked, so I had to use a bunch of other roads to get to where I was going. Later I found out that John had shot and killed the coach he hired to run the college wrestling program that John financially supported. I bring this up, because John DuPont was a world class loser. He never fit in any where, never had a true friend, never had a woman by his side that loved him and never accomplished anything that he didn't pay for or pay someone else to do. He was an odd unlikeable misfit. But he had more money than you could imagine. My point is obvious, money isn't everything. John wanted respect and admiration, so it bought. But he knew that wasn't the same as earning it. So it was worthless, even to him. All his money should have made him happy and popular, according to your theory. But it didn't, it isolated him from reality. He grew up with no one to play with, but an old man that his mother hired to drive John to school and watch him if John wondered around the estate. As an adult, his money made him fear for his life. The day he shot Dave Shultz, he had an armed body guard with him. John killed Dave because Dave was a winner. John could only win, if Dave won for him. So John had money, so what. Dave had drive and spirit. He came from no where and became someone that others respected and admired. The only mistake Dave made was he agreed to work for a giant loser. I hope you got something from this. They made a movie about John DuPont's miserable life. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

If that's how you feel, then pursue that idea. Other people see things differently and you can't discount them for that. Also, since you're a future "cash-money millionaire" you should brush up on your grammar for that wolf of wall street interview.
