Can I be left home alone for a day?
I am 13 (almost 14) and live in the UK. I am responsible for my age. I am going to my friends house for a sleepover, but the next day my dad's doing a run and we need to pick him up. But it's over 60 miles away. I would need to leave my friend's house really early so we can get there on time. However, it would be inconvenient for everyone. So I was wondering whether I could be left home alone for the day. Not even the whole day, possibly just the afternoon. Is that legally possible?

The law doesn't actually state an age a child can be left alone. However the parent needs to use their own initiative because they know their child and know if their child is old enough. The direct gov gives parents guidelines to this. Please see attached.

Not necessarily, but as long as you understand emergency procedures and such, you will be fine for 4 or so hours.
