Without graphing, classify the following system as independent, dependent, or

inconsistent.

Y= -3x+5

3x+y=5

b.dependent

    y = - 3x + 5

    3x + y = 5

    solve the second equation for y...what did you get ? did you try ? Why not ??

    y = - 3x + 5

    compare that to the first equation...what do you think about that ?? You do think, right ??

    Collinear equations are DEPENDENT...
