I mean---They have done Robocop, Godzilla, now Fantastic 4, Underworld's on the way- Does this trend make sense?

It sucks.
There are plenty of low budget films from the 50's that could be remade but Hollywood doesn't want to do that. They want to reboot successful movies in hopes of a big payday when all they do is suck.
The upcoming reboot of Terminator looks like a complete abomination that is aimed at the comic book movie crowd so it will probably make just enough to be considered successful.
They are already talking about another reboot of Spiderman.
How many Incredible Hulk bombs can they put out before they give up?
