Sorry - I can't open your links, but if it helps, I was a teenager in the 1950's.
We were very proud of our tiny waists and wore 4" wide elasticated belts to emphasise them.
Skirts were very full - circular and made out of 4 yards of taffeta was the "in-thing".
Lots of petticoats - made of "paper nylon" with loads of lace and frills to hold the top skirt out like a lampshade!
Princess Margaret once went to a function wearing such an outfit and couldn't sit down because of her petticoats!
The most favoured top was black, v-necked, with threequarter sleeves.
Nylon stockings with seams held up with a suspender belt (I still have some of mine!)
Ballerinas (preferably black suede)
Hair in a pony-tail
Black velet throat ribbon with a cameo was the finishing touch.
And we wore gloves with a clutch bag (still have all the bags, too!)
Hope this is helpful from an old lady who enjoyed the 50's and Rock 'n' Roll (I still have all my 78 rpm records)
