Go for a brisk 1 mile walk or walk/run. See what your time is, then work on increasing your speed, as needed. It shouldn't be difficult for a fairly fit person to walk a 15 min mile and run a mile in around 10 mins (which would mean 1.5 miles in 15 mins is very doable.
You may be able to make the needed time/distance now, but you need to figure out where you are, so you know how much you need to improve. Having 1 month or 2 months to work on it is a fairly big difference. You can get a lot more improvement in 8 weeks versus 4 wks.

Just start running and don't overdue it. Run and then walk ,increasing the length of the run slowly day by day. 1.5 miles in 15 minutes is definately doable.
