My friend is really down right now, how can I make her feel better?

A couple of weeks ago my bestfriend found out that her mum has cancer, she is getting better but still having surgery and chemo.

Today I found out that her father has been beating her since she was around 7 but she has been to scared to tell anyone.

(We are both 16)

I really just don't know what to do😟

Sad situation. You have to be there for her, first and foremost. Talk to her, encourage her, listen to her, and be supportive. Encourage her to get help from a professional, because these are hard situations to be dealing with. She can't do it alone and she needs a good support network. A psychologist can help them work through the abuse. She'll then be in a better position to deal with the other chaos in her life, perhaps? Hope this helps! Good luck.

talk to her, be there for her. ask her if she has ever got help ie counselling. if not this could be really useful. also invite her to come over to your place and do some fun things together to take her mind off everything. advise her to talk to someone about her dad. this is child abuse and should be taken very seriously. advise her to talk to a trusted adult ie a teacher. also make sure you are not taking on too much, and talk to someone you can trust, your parents maybe, but not another friend, about whats going on for her. it can be really draining and stressful to hear all of these horrible things and feel like you cant do anything about them, but just by being there you are helping her remember! :)
