napping tips?
I have a 11 mnth old. I usually rock her until she is asleep for naps then lay her down. Any tips on just putting her in the crib awake after a few books. I don't want her to cry it out. Maybe I should?

Let her cry it out but do the following. Put her down for a nap. Then leave the room and set your kitchen timer for ten minutes. At the end of ten minutes you can go check on her again. It worked well for me because I worry constantly as a mom. I can't tell you how many times my son would fall asleep at the eight to nine minute mark.

A soothing routine will work wonders to let them know it's time to sleep. I always sing the exact same two songs to my son and tell him it's night night time. He is usually wide awake and he will cry when I leave the room sometimes, but he usually is asleep within a few minutes.

Rock her until she is very, very drowsy and then put her down and pat her until she is asleep. Then gradually work toward putting her down without so much rocking. You really don't need to let her cry for any significant length of time at this age.
