If I remove a vegetable/fruit from the plant that it was orginally attatched to, is it still alive? For instance a cucumber?

If its still alive when does it die?

Update:

The seed in the fruit is alive? So the fruit is not dead?

Or for instance a potato is not dead as you can plant it and youll grow more potatoes form that potato.

For the most part no. And all plants can pretty much go through a 'cloning' process or produce seeds so you can replant.
