Is there something I can add to my liquid laundry soap to tone down the strong fragrance? Would Vinegar perhaps work?

    Yes and then your clothes would smell even worse! You can by unscented soap powder call Simple soap which has no odour & is non allergenic.

    Use little detergent so the smell would not be too strong

    use half the detergent and add a half scoop of oxy clean instead or just use less detergent
